Amazon’s Kindle 3 has caught everyone’s attention. There are 2 models available : the Kindle 3G ( 3G + WiFi ) and WiFi only .

What is the difference between Kindle WiFi and 3G?
The 3G version comes with 2 color options : graphite and white. The WiFi is available in Graphite only. Also, the 3G gives you mobile connectivity anywhere you are and access in over 100 nations. The WiFi allows access to the web or the Kindle store, only when you’re near a WiFi hotspot.

However , the WiFi has a major advantage : its cost. It available at the ridiculously low cost of $139, which implies that it’s fifty greenbacks less expensive than the 3G and it offers about the same features.

Some of the common features of the new ebook reader:
PDF files can be viewed at their actual size or with a zoom of 150%, 200% and 300%. You may also simply adjust the file to the width of the screen. The contrast may also be changed for a better reading experience.

You can set bookmarks, highlights, keep notes, and search the text ( the search function isn’t possible in PDFs, because they are scanned as photographs ). There are 2 in-built compendiums for American and English English.

The guaranty is for 1 year. The extended guaranty is for 2 years, but only is applicable to the US.

Accessories :
With this device you get the USB wire wanted to connect to a computer, but you don’t get any case for the device . But it isn’t extremely safe to carry the hardware unprotected. Another drawback is that the charger that comes with the device doesn’t support the voltage in Europe. So , if you live in Europe you will have to charge the device only thru your computer ( fortuitously the battery lasts for roughly a month ). You may also choose to buy an adapter for EU sockets from Amazon at an exceedingly lower cost.
